Internationally Certified Mountain Guide

PRACTICAL INFORMATION:

Mountaineering, climbing, skiing, ski mountaineering, hiking and trekking take place in wild settings and are adventure sports having components that constantly change. I have tried to describe each way in the best way possible. I try to keep the written itineraries up to date. Some tours may vary slightly from the itineraries you review here. Even with the latest technological improvements, mountains remain wilderness, perfect terrain for adventures. Flexibility to accommodate a given situation is key to safe and exciting trips. Here in lies the value of customized tours.

Your guide, a true professional has the skill and knowledge to adapt to different situation and will modified the program when necessary. You can always count on their enthusiasm and experience. The guide too will count on your preparation and motivation, keys of successful adventures.

We look forward to sharing some unforgettable moment with you.

The information listed below will help you understand how we operate. If you need more information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Daily program: I have tried to provide daily details giving information on altitude, elevation gain and loss, distance. However some of the information is based on estimations. Participant condition, weather and current condition can vary things greatly. The guide may change the days plan for security reason base on trail condition, participant condition, weather etc..

Transport: During our tours we will be using public as well as private transport. If an itinerary lists a scheduled time, remember that changes occur behind our control. We will do our best to maintain the planned itinerary but we can not be responsible for changes due to public transport or traffic problems.

Lodging: Your lodging choices range from 5 stars hotels to camping. If the tour is custom designed to your specifications please do not forget to mention the type of hotel you want. Otherwise we will plan the tour with lodging that we feel fit with the type of tour. In some instances, we have to use what is available.

Mountain huts: Some huts at high altitude do not have water available and you may be require to buy bottled water. Showers are generally not available. Usually the food in the hut is provided, otherwise we will bring food to cook. The sleeping arrangements in the hut are dorm style. It is best to think of mountain huts as luxury camping.

Environment: We are concern with protecting the environment wherever we go. This includes respecting the cultures of the region. It is important to keep all places clean. We always bring back all our garbage and then some. Before leaving on a tour repack your food so not to bring extra wrapping paper.

SECURITY: The weather and other objective hazard tied to the environment can rapidly change the conditions. Subjective hazards tied to people can also effect a tour. Zero risk conditions do not exist in the mountains or elsewhere. The guide is constantly assessing the hazards and minimizing the risks. This may require the guide to make changes in order to maintain an adequate level of safety.

Insurance: In order to face any unforeseen condition all participant are require to have insurance that covers medical, accident, rescue in remote location and evacuation. Trip cancellation insurance is highly suggested as well.

Adventure: Traveling to other countries, discovering new horizons, meeting new people, changing cultures, visiting remote places, implies a lot of unforeseen situations that will have to be delt with when they present themselves to the group. The guide, as a trained leader, will manage the situation but the entire group must work together to accept changes.
